Weston Woolsey represented Cherokee admirably in both the 800m and the 1600m events, exhibiting his determination and skill on the track.

Overall, Cherokee High School's track and field team demonstrated their dedication and talent at the Regional 1A meet, with 15 athletes competing and several athletes advancing to the State Track Meet. Their outstanding performances are a testament to their hard work and commitment to excellence. As they prepare to compete at the State level, they carry with them the support and pride of their school and community.” We are certainly proud of each of these athletes and wish Gunner, Cayden, Joel, and Jeremiah luck at state!

In the spirit of track, we also had our 2nd Annual Color Run last week. This is a fun, free community event sponsored by our PTC. After the run, there were hot dogs and chips with all the fixin's. The evening concluded with a town meeting about our upcoming Independence Day celebration. For many years, it was a Cherokee tradition to have games, activities, fellowship, and fireworks. However due to the lack of fireworks and volunteers, we have not had this special community event recently. Many members of the community expressed a desire for it to return, so we will now have some fun activities on July 4, 2024! We are still unable to have fireworks, but we will have a cornhole tournament, water slides, carnival games, a meal, homemade ice cream, and more. If you have ideas and/or want to help out, please let Kaci Morrison know. We are excited to bring back this event!
