The San Saba Rotary Club met at Pepperbelly's last Thursday, April 18, 2024. Nine members were present. In attendance was also a guest from the Waco Rotary, Herb Cross. Buck Gilcrease presided over the meeting.

Marvin Whitt addressed the group about Cherokee Day Family Fun Fest on Saturday, May 4, 2024. He emphasized needed food items to fill the pantry for the year. Jacqueline will include that information in the newsletter and will distribute the donation boxes at the following banks: Arrowhead, Commercial National and City National. The requested food items are canned meats (no tuna fish), canned vegetables, snacks, crackers, juice in bottles, juice boxes for kids, jelly, peanut butter, honey, syrup, Karo Syrup, liquid detergent, spray n’ wash, dryer sheets, and hand soap. The home will also take monetary donations. Marvin passed around a Sign-Up Sheet for Rotary volunteers for the May 4th event.

The April Student of the Month is Natalie Cuevas.

Our guest speaker for the meeting was Mr. Joel Bachman, a certified physician’s assistant with the Hendrick Bone and Joint Clinic. He assists two surgeons, Dr. Masterson and Dr. Deal. Joel trained and served as an Orthopaedic Physician Assistant in the army at Fort Cavazos in Killeen.
