We are excited to announce how great Rylie Eckert did representing our school at the Cross Country State meet this past Monday. Rylie finished 14th overall with her personal best time on the state course.

She finished the season as the District XC Individual Champion, Region III Individual Champion, and 14th Overall State Qualifying Individual Medalist. Her successes are grounded in a relentless work ethic, mental toughness, and great coaching. Thank you, Coach Eckermann and Coach Eckert, for making all our Lady Coyote XC runners great!

Our District Champion Coyotes will start their playoff run this Friday night, November 10th, at Comanche HS vs. the Sidney Eagles. We’re in the win or go home season. Best of luck to our Coyote men.

Our lady Coyotes varsity volleyball team are area champions and will advance. At this time, I do not have the next game information. They are scrappers and working hard to get the next win. We’re proud of our Lady Coyotes.

Just so no one gets too lazy, it’s time for basketball. The junior varsity and junior high girls will have games on the 7th and the 11th. They also have a game on the 14th. We like to keep everyone busy here in Richland Springs.

The Chili luncheon hosted by the Beautification Committee was a success. I stopped by for a bowl of good stuff. Your participation is greatly appreciated. The proceeds will be used to keep our little town looking good. Paige Moats and her committee members do a great job on our flower arrangements.

Thanks to wonderful donors, the roof will be treated again in the old Bank Building. Hopefully, the next rain will not see my area floating in water. That means I need to get to work, pulling up wet flooring.

Once the wet flooring is removed, it will smell better. I think it looks pretty good. Our plans are to have it open for the Christmas Market so some local vendors can display their treasures indoors. We’ll see how quickly Chrissy and I can work. I did write some time ago that I’m not a handy person.

My great-granddaughter came to visit Chrissy this week. She is a three-year-old cutie pie designed to wear old people out. She decided to call me granny. Chrissy explained to her that Granny was a good name, but I was a great-granny. There is nothing sweeter than a hug from a baby girl who calls out 'Great Granny, I’m here.' She is headed for Dallas Monday accompanied by an exhausted CeeCee. I couldn’t convince Chrissy to keep her a few more days. Each day we should count our blessings; they come and go so quickly.

Due to the holiday schedule, there will not be any Men’s Breakfasts in November and December. The next one will be on January 13, 2024.

What in the world happened to 2023?

It’s time to get ready for the Youth Fair in January. McKinley Crownover is a very organized young woman and has rearranged events to facilitate entries and judges. We are fortunate to have such a sweet and competent young lady working with us. So, teachers, get your entries ready.

Our prayer list is long. Johnny Reeves did not have a good week with his cancer treatments but is doing a little better today. Kathy Brockman is still searching for an answer to her health issues. Prayers are needed for both families.

Many families are having trouble meeting their grocery needs. I just want to remind everyone that on the first and third Mondays, the First Baptist food bank is open to anyone in the Richland Springs area. You don’t have to be a church member.

Please pray for Israel and the ongoing war there and in the Ukraine. There is never a good side to war, even when it is necessary. Please pray for our open border, our country, our President, and Congress. We need strong leadership in this time of upheaval. Most of all, pray for our precious troops and their families.
