The Llano Country Opry will feature Grammy Nominated Singer Songwriter Bobby Tomberlin and Country Music second and third generation artist Tess Frizzell from Nashville at the Lantex Theater on Saturday, May 11. CMA, ACM and Grammy nominee, Bobby Tomberlin, was raised in Luverne, Alabama, where he was a disc jockey at the age of 11, interviewing icons like Johnny Cash, Waylon and Tammy Wynette. Bobby was discovered by Mel Tillis and recently celebrated his 25th year as a staff songwriter for CURB Word Music. Bobby co-wrote 'One More Day,' recorded by Diamond Rio, Darryl Worley’s Top 10 hit, 'A Good Day To Run” and the new Willie Nelson/Barbra Streisand single, “I’d Want It To Be You.”

Bobby has also had songs recorded by Blake Shelton, Faith Hill, Josh Turner, Kenny Rogers, Joe Nichols, Dolly Parton, Rodney Atkins, Joe Diffie, Dylan Scott, Pam Tillis, Mo Pitney, Jamey Johnson, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Oak Ridge Boys, Thompson Square, actor Chris Pine, Terri Clark, John Schneider, Lee Greenwood, Jeannie Seely, Rhonda Vincent and many others.

Bobby was one of the cast members of the CMT hit series, The Singing Bee, for four seasons and has appeared on numerous television shows including Country’s Family Reunion, Opry Backstage and Authentic America. Bobby has also been featured in several films including Wheeler, costarring with Stephen Dorff and Kris Kristofferson. Bobby has done voiceover work on projects by Trace Adkins, Michael McDonald and Peter Frampton and was featured on Righteous Brother, Bill Medley’s DVD project, Damn Near Righteous, where he interviews Medley in the legendary Capitol Studios Hollywood.

Tess Frizzell was born into Country Music Royalty, being the daughter of CMA/ACM Winner, Shelly West and successful singer/songwriter, Allen Frizzell. Country Music runs deep in her DNA with her grandmother, Country Music Hall of Fame member Dottie West and uncle, Lefty Frizzell, also a member of the Hall of Fame. Her Mother and Uncle, David Frizzell, recorded the classic, “You’re The Reason God Made Oklahoma.” Tess is carrying on the family tradition, writing songs with hit writers including Bill Anderson, Michael Farren and Bobby Tomberlin. Tess tours the country singing her music and also some of the hits, made famous by her family and shares the stories behind the songs. Tess has shared the stage with many of Country Music’s legends, appeared on several television shows, and she will be releasing a new album Spring 2024.

Tess is also an accomplished portrait artist, having her work displayed in the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, the Hank Williams Museum, Willie Nelson and Friends Museum, the Hank Snow historical home etc. She has done artwork for former President Jimmy Carter’s family, as well for organizations such as the Make A Wish Foundation.

The Llano Country Opry Band will perform on the first half of the show featuring Kaye Tolson, Bode Barker, Charley Walton, Tom Tolson and Bucille Snotgrass. Tracy Pitcox will MC the show.
