Born with a Silver Spoon

One day, I overheard my grandmother talking to my mother about someone who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. I did not know they were talking about someone born into a wealthy family.

Anyone who has access to freedoms and privileges that others do not have is said to be well off. Just as anyone who was fortunate enough to be born in the United States of America or immigrated here has many freedoms and privileges that others in the world do not have.

The Bible talks a lot about being well off or blessed.

Anybody living in a place or country where God’s word is preached and respected is well off. Anyone who has accepted Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord is especially well off or blessed. (Romans 4:7-8 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”)

Those who have accepted Jesus Christ and have not seen Him, (Jesus) are also blessed. (John 20:29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”)

Blessed are those waiting for the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior (Jesus Christ) and the day of redemption. (Titus 2:13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,)

There are many wonderful blessings and benefits available to Christians today, and it will even be better in the future.

Titus 3:4-7 (But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.) tells about when God poured out (gave or made available, His kindness to us) the wonderful and rich bountiful blessings in, through, and by Christ Jesus.

We can say we were given silver spoons!

See you in Church next Sunday.
